Curriculum item categories are used to easily search for specific curriculum items in your site. By tagging items with a category, you are able to filter curriculum items based on the category criteria you are seeking. To create a curriculum item category, go to the Administration side of your site, click Curriculums, and then Item Categories.
Then, enter a name and description for the item category you are creating. Keep in mind that the name is only shown on the curriculum directory page and the description is not shown to students; it is intended for administrative use only. Clicking the box, shown on public site, allows the category to be shown on the curriculum directory as a filter when searching for Curriculum items. Not checking this box would essentially leave the category as an administrative tag. Once these fields are completed, click Save and repeat these steps again for each category you wish to create.
