The last 15 years have shown an increased trend in leadership outcomes on campuses across the nation, and higher education is now seen as a significant force for developing leadership capacity (Astin & Astin, 2000; Dugan & Komives, 2007). This emphasis on leadership development in graduates is holding our campuses accountable. They must provide evidence of the development of these skills, which has prompted the need to strengthen their assessment practice. Join us as we look at best practices in building strong, campus-wide leadership assessment initiatives, including the review of national resources and trends. Through a Member Campus case study and a review of best practices, we will discuss how to leverage different techniques to track and assess leadership on campus.
